“Rimless” has become one of the most searched terms when choosing a new toilet. In this IdeaCasa guide, we briefly explain what it means, its advantages, and what you need to check before ordering, with examples from the Italian Artceram collections.
In a classic toilet, the inner rim has a turned-down lip underneath which water flows during flushing. The area under this lip is not visible and is difficult to clean. A rimless (“without a lip”) toilet has an open interior: water is directed directly onto the walls of the bowl, without that hidden area.

It attaches to a frame with a concealed cistern built into the wall. The floor remains clear under the toilet, making it easy to clean and giving the bathroom a more spacious feel. It requires a wall or plasterboard for the frame and must be planned from the start of the renovation. For Artceram wall-hung sanitary ware, the ACA052 fixing kit is available.
It is the right solution when you do not want to break into the walls or when replacing an existing toilet. The “back to wall” (wall-mounted) version conceals the connections and looks almost as clean as a wall-hung model. Different fixing kits are available, depending on the model and installation:
If you prefer a visible cistern, the File 2.0 monobloc toilet is also available, with a cistern and soft-close seat.

For those looking to save the space of a bidet, the Hype Artceram is a smart toilet with an integrated bidet function. It also requires an electrical supply next to the toilet, so it must be planned before the final finishes.
Artceram is the manufacturer; IdeaCasa is the retailer in Romania. Tell us what type of installation you have in your bathroom and which style you prefer, and we’ll recommend the right toilet, bidet, and fixing accessories.
The final configuration (frame, cistern, connections) is determined together with the plumber. The price and delivery time are confirmed upon request.
